Ceramic tile has been used as commercial kitchen flooring and in baths and shower rooms for many years. While ceramic tile has proven to be very standard, there are many drawbacks.

1. Ceramic tile is very hard. Standing for long hours on ceramic tiles can be very difficult on your back and legs and they cannot be softened to relieve the hardness of their surface. Sometimes, rugs may be used in some areas where the user will be standing for a long period; however, the use of a rug only adds to more cleaning responsibility and can also be hazardous if the rug slips.

2. Ceramic tiles do not contain heat well. In winter, ceramic tiles will get cold and will not hold heat well, which causes discomfort for the user.

3. Difficult and time-consuming to install and maintain. The main drawback of ceramic tile floors is the difficult and time-consuming process it takes to install. Installing a ceramic tile floor requires many heavy tools, grout and mortar. After installation, maintaining tile floors requires constant attention. When grout begins to crack, it is unsafe; it also brings an ugly appearance to your kitchen. Within these cracks, bacteria can also breed.
