FAQ

  • What makes JetRock® flooring more durable than other epoxy floors?

JetRock® is more durable for a number of reasons. First, our proprietary JetRock® flooring was developed to cure fast and extremely hard. Second, where we use a gallon of epoxy for every 25 square feet; comparatively, other broadcast epoxy floors only use a gallon of epoxy for every 100 square feet. Third, our aggregate is a unique blend of polymerized quartz and provides a consistent 3/16-inch thickness throughout the floor – further increasing its durability.

  • What are the safety features of JetRock® flooring?

JetRock® is designed for wet, greasy and slippery conditions, which are commonplace in commercial kitchens and heavily trafficked spaces. JetRock’s aggregate adds a non-slip texture to the floor adding another layer of safety; and reduces the risk of people slipping on a cracked or loose tile.

  • Why is JetRock® more hygienic than epoxy, tile or sheet goods?

JetRock® is a nonporous floor, which means it does not absorb or harbor bacteria, mold, mildew or dirt. All of these contaminants remain on the floor surface and are washed down the drain during the next cleaning.

  • How does JetRock® compare to tile floors?

A JetRock® flooring system is designed for commercial kitchens where you need durable, hygienic and slip resistant floors. JetRock® is designed to take the abuse commonly found in commercial kitchens. The type of tile used in commercial kitchens requires periodic tile and grout maintenance/replacement not required for a JetRock® seamless floor, and simply does not last as long as a JetRock® floor when subjected to the same type of abuse.

  • How long does it take to install JetRock® flooring?

JetRock® was specifically developed for fast installation with a cure time of six hours. And it can be installed right over existing floors so there is no need to demo your old floor – saving considerable downtime and avoiding potential issues that can arise during demo. JetRock® can be installed in restaurants overnight and have them back up and running by lunch.

  • Do I have to worry about kitchen or bar equipment?

Your equipment should be removed prior to installation. It allows the slope of the floor to be tested and ensure that JetRock® is installed properly under each leg of the equipment. Also, it allows for the JetRock® integrated cove base to be installed on the walls behind the equipment. Do you have equipment to remove? If so, there are a variety of options available and our trained and authorized network of independent installers will work with you to coordinate and facilitate the removal and reinstallation of the equipment.

  • When should I consider installing a JetRock® floor?

When you’re building or upgrading a kitchen, bathroom or bar area. When you’ve been cited by the health inspector. When you’ve got a leak. When you want to bring more hygiene and safety to your commercial kitchen and food handling. When you’re sick of maintaining your tile floors. We’ll be ready when you are!
